It is always useful for the family historian to have a timeline to hand of what event happened when and which records became available. There is a handy little book here that will help you with that as well as one which will assist you in “thinking outside the box” when it comes to researching that elusive ancestor. Photographs taken in the hundred years from 1850 can also give you clues of where else you can search.
