'Midst Cherry Orchards' is the culmination of research that started in 1970 and only stopped when the author moved to Orkney in 1996. The unfinished manuscript was put aside for a number of years, but never forgotten.
The title of this book, Midst Cherry Orchards, was a phrase used in many of the early Trade Directories in their introductions for the Wilmington entry. It creates an evocative picture of blossom time in a Kentish village during earlier centuries.
