Founded in 1973, the Lancashire Family History & Heraldry Society now has more than 2000 members worldwide.
The annual subscription runs from January to December, but if you are joining on or between 1st June and 31st December, we offer an extended membership, which includes half the current year (two journals) and all of the next year (four journals) - just select the Extended Membership option.
In the UK, meetings are held in Lancashire and in London. In Lancashire we have branches which meet in Blackburn, Bury, Chorley, Rochdale and Preston. Our Fylde branch (which includes Blackpool) meets at Poulton-le-Fylde, and there are branches meeting in Accrington (Hyndburn branch), Colne, (Pendle and Burnley branch), Morecambe (Lancaster and Morecambe branch), Clitheroe (Ribble Valley branch) and Rawtenstall (Rossendale branch). An Irish Ancestry group and a Heraldry group also meet in Lancashire.
Members of the Society are free to take part in any of these meetings, and to use the facilities of any branch, such as its library stock, fiche stock, CD stock and other resources. Members may also use the research facilities at the Resource Centre run by Chorley branch at Astley Hall, and at the Lancashire Family History & Heraldry Society Centre at the Straits, Oswaldtwistle.
Each branch organises its own programme of events and activities, details of which, together with locations and meeting timetables, can be found in the Branches section of our website.
If you are renewing your subscription, can you please state your membership number in the box provided on the Customer Details page. Thank you.
