This book, which was first published in 1997, is very helpful when interpreting old Scottish documents.

Standard words and expressions were used in such documents, for example:- anent (concerning), subtack (sublet), Martinmas (11th November) and these are explained, making the interpretation of an old document much easier.

It is a very useful book and, if a dictionary can be said to make interesting reading, then this small one is a very interesting read, indeed.
