The Tunbridge Wells Family History Society was founded in 1991 and aims to promote genealogical studies and family history research, particularly in the Tunbridge Wells area; to make available the results of any research; and to promote the preservation of records. The Society also provides family historians living locally with a chance to meet regularly.

We are a small society with around 260 members who either live in or have family history connections with the Tunbridge Wells area, which straddles the Kent / Sussex border. There are 12 parishes of specific interest to our members: Ashurst, Kent, Bidborough, Kent, Pembury, Kent, Penshurst, Kent, Southborough, Kent, Speldhurst, Kent, Lamberhurst, Kent and/or Sussex, Frant, Sussex, Rotherfield, Sussex, Ticehurst, Sussex, Wadhurst, Sussex, Withyham, Sussex.
