Hampshire Past will help you trace those elusive ancestors who lived or passed through our beautiful county.
I am an experienced researcher and lecturer who specialises in researching within Hampshire. Whilst I cannot predict exactly what I will find, I can guarantee that the work I produce will be reliable and of the highest quality. I love what I do and I will take every care and interest while I am undertaking research on your behalf.
The main places that I normally carry out my research are: Hampshire County Record Office in Winchester, Portsmouth Record Office and Museum and Southampton City Archives and Special Collections. I also have extensive facilities in my own collection.
Our ancestors were once living breathing people just like us and so I will try to find as much information as possible for you, to help open the door a little on what they and their lives were like. Some of the resources I check, where applicable are: GRO Indexes, Parish Registers and Bishops Transcripts, Census, Poor Law documents e.g. Settlement Examinations and Removal Orders, Quarter Sessions Records, Seamans Tickets, Militia Musters, Hearth Tax and land documents.
