Supplied by the Huguenot Society of Great Britain & Ireland. Huguenot Wills and Administrations in England and Ireland 1617 1849, and Index. Two part set Compiled by Henry Wagner FSA Edited by Mrs Dorothy North. The Abstracts of Huguenot Wills and Administrations were compiled by Henry Wagner (1840 1926) who devoted a large part of his life to genealogical research, much of which included British Huguenot families. Wagner was a Director of the French Hospital, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and a founding Fellow of the Huguenot Society in 1885. These abstracts, now in the Huguenot Library, have been faithfully transcribed by Mrs Dorothy North to form Volume 60 of the Huguenot Societys Quarto Series. This volume contains in excess of 5,000 entries in three sections English Wills, Irish Wills and Administrations. Many of these abstracts contain a wealth of information regarding individual bequests and the occupation and interests not only of the Testator but also to family members and others, as well as their relationship to each other. These extracts give a graphic insight into life as well as the hardships endured at these times. The information contained in this volume is of significant interest to family historians and will prove to be an extremely useful source of information to anyone researching Huguenot ancestry. Part II is a complete index of names in Part I. Huguenot Society Quarto Series 60, one volume in two parts. ISBN 978-0-9556297-0-9
