Ref: GLA-Kings1
Produced by Glamorgan Family History Society. Kingsbridge Cemetery is situated on the B4620, Swansea Road, Kingsbridge near Gorseinon. Although there is no record of its opening date, the earliest date on any memorial in the cemetery is 4th September 1895, recording the interment of a Charles Baker aged 36 years of Upper Lime Street, Gorseinon. The earliest records for the cemetery have unfortunately been lost, supposedly in a fire many years ago. There exists a local story, however, that the first burial was of a gypsy girl: it may have been inspired by the fact that there is a separate section in the graveyard for the travelling community, which has traditionally camped on Garngoch Common in the area. The register dates are from 1903-1958 inclusive.
