Blackleach and North Walkden

From the introduction: This book traces the progress of North Walkden from rural isolation to urban and industrial sprawl, and through the worst of the pollution to the creation of Blackleach Country Park. The entire industrial and social history of North Walkden was affected by what went on at the Blackleach site and by the people who lived and worked in the local area.
