This booklet contains a transcription of the surviving birth and death registers relating to the Cookham Union held at Berkshire Record Office.  The Cookham Poor Law Union was formed on 20 July 1835 and comprised the parishes of Bisham, Bray, Cookham, Hurley, Shottesbrook, Waltham St. Lawrence and White Waltham.  With the growth of the town of Maidenhead, which was situated partly in Cookham and partly in Bray parish, the Union was renamed Maidenhead in 1896.
