Hambledon Village Booklet - Print

Supplier:
Hampshire Genealogical Society

Along with a useful map showing Hambledon and its contiguous settlements, are descriptions of the places of worship, past and present. The village had a surprising number of Baptist meeting houses.

Surnames of Hambledon inhabitants are sprinkled throughout, from school master and inn keeper to landowner; and sources as diverse as Hearth Taxes, Enclosure Awards and Trade Directories are explored. Particularly interesting are references to the Bat and Ball public house of cricketing fame.
