This booklet contains a transcription of the surviving birth and death registers relating to the Newbury Union held at Berkshire Record Office.  The Newbury Poor Law Union was formed on 7 April 1835 and initially comprised the parishes of Boxford, Brimpton, Chieveley, Enborne, Greenham, Hampstead Marshall, Leckhamstead, Midgham, Newbury, Sandleford, Shaw cum Donnington, Speen, Thatcham, Wasing, Welford, Winterbourne and Woolhampton [all Berkshire] and Newtown [Hampshire].  Cold Ash, a parish created in 1865 from Thatcham, was added in 1894.
