Ormskirk Graveyard, St. Peter & St. Paul Church of England - Zip Download

In the later-1900s the Parish Church of Ormskirk began a "modernisation". The gravestones around the church were lifted and laid as paths (some being laid face-down). No proper records were kept of the work. The ODFHS found various records & work over a period of 2 years resulted in identifying most of the spaces from where stones had been removed. A grave-diggers notebook furnished details of most grave owners, their occupations and many internments (about 1844 to 1909).
