A snapshot of life in a rural Suffolk parish in the 1840's. The book contains a full set of tithe maps and apportionments. The detailed maps show every field and building in the parish. The tithe apportionments show who owned and occupied each plot, and its usage - e.g. pasture, arable, woodland. Together with the 1841 census data also given in the book, a picture can be built up of who lived where, and who their neighbours and landlords were. Extracts from the parish registers, showing the baptisms, burials and marriages in the period 1835 to 1841, help to fill out your family history. A full name index to the people mentioned in the book is given, together with a field name index.
