Supplied by Yorkshire Ancestors.

Some records of early Friends in North-East Yorkshire. The Friends, known as Quakers, had a huge following in the north-east of Yorkshire, possibly because this was a favourite area for George Fox (1624-1691), a founder of the Religious Society of Friends, who visited the Yorkshire coast and neighbourhood many times. In this book, many names and places are mentioned.
